The future is in the hands of our children. This is a fact that is well-understood by the Galena Park ISD
Board of Trustees, and it is at the forefront of every action they take. Whether they are discussing budget
issues, planning for future facilities, interacting with students, teachers, and community members, or
attending training themselves, they do so with the future of the district’s children in mind.

The driving force behind the success of Galena Park ISD is the dedication and support of the Board of
Trustees. From the very youngest children in the district to those about to embark on their chosen college
or career path, the Board’s primary concern is for all students to succeed. In addition to traditional K-12
campuses, Galena Park ISD also includes an early childhood center, which works in collaboration with Early
Head Start, an innovative CTE Early College High School, which works in conjunction with San Jacinto
College North, and an alternative high school campus for students seeking an accelerated high school path.

Under the committed leadership of our very own Team of Eight, Galena Park ISD students have performed
higher than the state’s target goals in every index, but the achievements of our students go far beyond the
walls of the classroom. Whether in academics, athletics, fine arts, or CTE, Galena Park ISD students have
accomplished amazing things under the Board’s leadership and encouragement. Indeed, our Board trustees
are our students’ greatest cheerleaders, in victory and defeat, and it is not uncommon to see them cheering
students on at athletic events, academic meets and other school programs.

What sets Galena Park ISD’s Board of Trustees apart is the members’ passionate commitment to the
community in which they serve. Several board members are proud graduates of Galena Park ISD, and others
have children who have graduated or are attending schools in the district. They are truly invested, and this
makes all the difference. This devoted Team of Eight serves as a cohesive committee to assure that the district
is providing students with opportunities to thrive in the 21st century and beyond.

From administrators, to teachers, to students, there is a culture of excellence in Galena Park ISD, and the
Board leads the way with the motto “Leading,.. Learning… Serving.” This spirit of service shows through
in the Board’s commitment to advocating for a quality public education for all students. It is an awesome
responsibility, but one that they take on with dedication. After all, our future lies with the children, but the
students of Galena Park ISD are in the hands of our very capable Board of Trustees.
