GPISD recognized the Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Department for being named a CTE District of Distinction by
Presented by KHOU 11 and Randalls, North Shore Senior the Career and Technical Association of Texas. This esteemed
High School Spanish Teacher Macaria Cuevas was surprised recognition celebrates districts across Texas that demonstrate

The Williamson Elementary School robotics club students who

Alma Villegas, a Galena Park High School junior, earned a
national Gold Medal in this year’s Scholastic Art & Writing
Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers,
The Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month annual for her artwork entitled “Saddled Up.” National medalists
exhibit showcased Pyburn Elementary School student Alex Sauz’s receive certificates and medals and are considered for national
