Educators Honored for Excellence
C ongratulations to Ms. Rachel Tapner and Ms. LaVincia Barnett for being named the 2023
GPISD Teachers of the Year.
Ms. Tapner has been an educator in GPISD for 14 years and is currently a special education
teacher at Green Valley Elementary School, and Ms. Barnett has been an educator in GPISD
for 19 years and is the Education and Training teacher at North Shore Senior High School.
Congratulations Ms. Tapner and Ms. Barnett! We wish you the best of luck in the Region IV
Teacher of the Year competition.

2023 GPISD Rookie Teachers of the Year.
Ms. Grisson is the music teacher at Cloverleaf Elementary School, and Ms. Romero is a math
teacher at Cobb Sixth Grade Campus.
