Decades of Excellence

During the spring semester, Galena Park ISD proudly celebrated significant milestones for
three elementary schools: Cimarron Elementary, Woodland Acres Elementary, and Jacinto
City Elementary. Each school has reached a remarkable anniversary, marking decades of
educational excellence, community engagement, and cherished memories. Let’s take a journey

Since its founding in 1955, Cimarron Elementary has been at the heart of the
community, fostering a love for learning and a spirit of togetherness. Over the
past 70 years, the home of the Colts has seen generations of students walk
its halls, each leaving their mark on the school’s storied legacy. Cimarron
Elementary has consistently embraced its mission to prepare diverse learners
to be caring, creative, and responsible individuals and to foster unique talents
through fine arts and academics. As Cimarron Elementary celebrated its 70
th
anniversary, the school looks forward to future successes.

Woodland Acres Elementary, established in 1955, has long been a beacon
of educational excellence in the community. For 70 years, the Wildcats have
roamed the halls, embracing a legacy of resilience, curiosity, and dedication to
learning. The school’s vibrant history is reflected in its commitment to academic
excellence and actively serving the Woodland Acres community. As Woodland
Acres celebrates this milestone anniversary, the school continues to build on its
rich history, preparing students for a bright future.

Jacinto City Elementary, founded in 1945, celebrated its 80 anniversary.
