T hroughout the school year, Galena Park ISD hosts competitions to encourage students to push
their skills and knowledge to the next level. GPISD is pleased to recognize the accomplishments of
all students and enjoys sharing those moments with family and friends via our Youtube page.
Galena Park ISD held their annual
Dual Language Competition for
a select group of students from
each elementary campus. The
students were tested over reading
comprehension, writing skills, and
a verbal proficiency in English and
Spanish. This competition helps
students realize the benefit of
being bilingual, and knowing two
languages can help twice as many
people!
On April 16, Galena Park
ISD elementary students
competed in the Fast on Facts
competition. The race was on
as students took a timed test
covering addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division.
MacArthur Elementary took
home 1 place, North Shore

Elementary came in 2 place,

and Jacinto City Elementary
won 3 place honors.
