Superintendent’s Letter

As superintendent of Galena Park Independent School District,
I am honored to nominate our 2024-2025 Board of Trustees for
consideration as the TASA Honor School Board�

Our future and legacy are in the hands of the children� This fact
is well-understood by the Galena Park ISD’s Board of Trustees,
and it is at the forefront of every action they take� Our district’s
theme, “Building on a Legacy,” captures the essence of our
Board’s commitment to excellence and our continuous efforts
to create a brighter future for all students� Whether they are
discussing budget issues, planning for future facilities, interacting
with students, teachers, and community members, or attending
training themselves, they do so with the future of the District’s
children in mind�

What sets Galena Park ISD’s Board of Trustees apart is the members’
passionate commitment to the community in which they serve� The majority
of the trustees are proud graduates of Galena Park ISD, and the others
have children who have graduated or are attending schools in the District�
They are truly invested, and this makes all the difference� This devoted Team
of Eight serves as a cohesive committee to assure the district is providing
students with opportunities to thrive today and many years into the future�

Under the Board’s committed leadership, our Galena Park ISD students
have performed higher than the state’s target goals in every index, but the
achievements of our students go far beyond the walls of the classrooms�
Whether in academics, athletics, fine arts, or CTE, Galena Park ISD students
have accomplished amazing things under this Board’s leadership and
encouragement� Indeed, our Board trustees are the students’ greatest
cheerleaders, in victory and defeat, and it is not uncommon to see them
cheering students on at athletic events, academic meets, and other
school programs�

As Galena Park ISD moves forward, our Team of Eight remains committed
to honoring a legacy of excellence by continuously ensuring we are
preparing students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners�
The driving force behind the success of Galena Park ISD is the dedication
and support of our Board of Trustees� From the very youngest children in the
District to those about to embark on their chosen college or career path,
this Board’s primary concern is for all students to succeed�

For these reasons, and so many more, I proudly nominate and support your
consideration for the 2024-2025 Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees as the
TASA Honor Board�
