Chromebooks & At-Home Internet
Information
Galena Park ISD is proud to be a 1-to-1 District.
As a 1-to-1 district, every Galena Park ISD
student receives a device for school and home
use. We will continue issuing Chromebooks to
students and providing T-Mobile hotspots for
families who do not have fixed-line internet
at home. We will also be partnering with
Harris County Precinct 2 to provide additional
alternatives for families to access the internet
from home.
We are very excited to announce that device
insurance will be available for Chromebooks at
the beginning of the school year. Families will
have the option to purchase insurance from a
third-party provider to cover fees associated
with damaged, lost or stolen Chromebooks. More information coming soon.
Technology Support
Galena Park ISD Technology Department is here to answer
your technology questions and provide support to those
who may be experiencing technical difficulties with a
district-issued device.
The Technology Department has installed
eight technology lockers around the
District to provide contactless customer
service to our GPISD families. The lockers
will allow students to submit devices in
need of repair. These lockers will also
serve as pick-up locations for students
to retrieve repaired devices. If you are
experiencing difficulties with your device, you may contact
the Technology Help Desk to have your device examined
by technology personnel. A Help Desk team member will
provide you with a locker number location and a unique,
single-use code to submit your device.
