As GPISD educators and campuses continue to grow,
engage students, and remain committed to offering
exceptional curriculum, we are excited about the 2023-
2024 academic year being the inaugural year for GPISD’s
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
Academies. Beginning at the elementary level, our new ELEMENTARY ACADEMIES
STEM Academies will prepare students for exciting and
cutting-edge careers and will help close the skills gap in the
workforce by extending learning opportunities. This year’s
host campuses are Havard Elementary School and Galena
Park Elementary School. These added choices for parents of elementary school students are an
expansion of the wide variety of educational opportunities for our early learners.

The District’s Pre-K programs are a great way to begin a
path toward a quality education. Just like GPISD attracts
excellence, our Pre-K programs provide opportunities
for children to learn, grow, and be immersed in a
nurturing environment that fosters academic and social
development. They will learn valuable life skills that will
help them create a foundation for future academic
success. GPISD is proud to offer this wonderful opportunity
to help children begin an amazing and magnetic
educational journey!

As we begin the 2023-2024 school year, let’s build upon our past successes and continue to work
toward our shared goal of providing our students with the best possible educational experience!
We look forward to welcoming all school-age children back to our campuses on Wednesday,
August 9 .
