Galena Park I.S.D. would like to thank Dr. Angi Williams, Superintendent of Schools, for her hard work and dedication
        to the community. Dr. Williams has served as an educator for a total of 41 years, with 35 years of those years in GPISD.
        Dr. Williams began her career as the shared counselor for Cloverleaf Elementary and MacArthur Elementary in 1985,
        She was promoted to Assistant Principal of Galena Park Middle School in 1995, and served as Principal of Cunningham
        Middle School for two years before becoming Principal of Cobb Sixth Grade Campus. In 2001, Dr. Williams was
        promoted to Assistant Superintendent for Community Relations and went on to become the Deputy Superintendent for
        Educational Service in 2005. In July 2011, Dr. Williams was selected as the Interim Superintendent and in December 2011,
        was named Galena Park I.S.D. Superintendent of Schools.


        Under Dr. Williams’ leadership, the District has received many accolades: our Board of Trustees was selected the Region
        4 Honor Board and a state finalist for State Honor Board; in 2016 and 2020, the District was selected as a finalist for the
        prestigious H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District Award; every year has brought Academic UIL Championships
        and CTE Skills USA Champs; GPISD band and choir students have performed on state and national stages; and
        in Athletics, the first-ever State Basketball Championship, a National Football Championship, three State Football
        Championships, and the list goes on and on.


        We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Williams for all she has done during her nine years as Galena Park I.S.D.’s
        Superintendent of Schools.
