alena Park I.S.D. (GPISD) partners with several great organizations to ensure
our students are ready to conquer each day. GPISD’s nutrition partnerships
range from the Houston Food Bank to Brighter Bites to Share Tables. The nutrition
initiatives offered in conjunction with these partners help feed our students and
    G their families, as well.

During the 2018-2019 school year, GPISD implemented a new
option available to schools participating in the National School
Lunch and School Breakfast Program, called the Community
Eligibility Provision (CEP). All GPISD elementary, middle and
high school students receive free breakfast and lunch every
     day!

Another program putting food in the hands and homes of
our students is Brighter Bites. Students are given fresh fruits and
vegetables to take home each week. Through this partnership, families
receive two bags containing approximately 50 servings of produce.
Brighter Bites’ three-part formula to improve health through nutrition consists of
produce distribution, nutrition education and fun food experiences. Brighter Bites
helps our students and their families focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
