An artist’s palette is the base upon which all the colors are held. Our Business Services
Department is the solid foundation for the good work we do with students. Galena Park
ISD provides financial transparency to all of our stakeholders and continues to ensure
taxpayer dollars are being put to appropriate use by making certain all students’ needs
are met.

In May 2022, the GPISD Board of Trustees approved the 2022 Compensation Package.
Recruiting talented teachers is essential, so within this package, the first-year teacher
salary became the fourth highest in the state and third highest in Region 4. The Board

also recognizes the value of retaining experienced teachers, approving a 3% raise for all
returning teachers, along with continued stipends for educators with graduate degrees.
Additionally, our bus drivers’ salary is in the top 10% of school transportation salaries in the
southeastern gulf coast of Texas.
