A Great Place To Be!

In Galena Park ISD, each teacher, student, staff member, administrator, and

community partner is like an individual color on an artist’s palette. The brushstrokes
of our daily work with students blend to create a bold portrait of the district’s mission
“to prepare students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners.” As a
former coach, principal, and now Superintendent of Schools, working together
and empowering each team member has always been very important to me.
Individually, we are great, but when we come together, we are a priceless
masterpiece.

In this edition of The State of the District, you will get a glimpse of the Galena Park

ISD team working collaboratively and experiencing growth in academics, extra-
curricular activities, and many other areas that impact our students.

Our synergy earned us a grade of ‘A’ from the Texas
Education Agency (TEA) – a distinction which is the
result of district personnel and students working
together. While this is a significant accomplishment
for the district, we are equally proud of our work
in other key areas including safety, community
health resources, social-emotional support
services, and post-graduation opportunities, to

name a few.

As you read through the following pages, you
will see the vibrant collaboration between all
stakeholders on display throughout our district.
