                       Community Engagement

Family and community not only serve as the audience in our academic and
extracurricular performance; they are also essential to the symphony we create.

GPISD is committed to bridging the partnership between families, the community,
and our schools. We understand the importance of family and community
engagement in improving student outcomes and creating a positive learning
environment, and to this end, we regularly host events and community meetings.

There are many exciting ways for families and the broader community to become
involved in the good work of GPISD. In addition to traditional events like open
house and PTA meetings, families are encouraged to participate in community-
wide gatherings like Relay for Life, the annual Negami Toy Drive during holiday

season, and our annual Veteran’s Day celebration. As a district, we also recognize
the importance of coming together not only in times of celebration, but also
to stay abreast of current trends. For this purpose, GPISD partnered to present
informational sessions including the Human Trafficking Community Awareness

Program and the Fentanyl Poisoning Informational Summit. Additionally, we have
established and maintain various communication and social media channels
to keep families and community members informed about school events and
updates. We recognize that by working together, we can create a finely-tuned

environment where our students and community blend harmoniously.
