Who We Are
Just as each member of a symphony has an important instrument to play, each
member of the Galena Park ISD community has a crucial role in the success of the
District. The achievement of our students depends upon many stakeholders: willing
students, engaged parents, generous community members, creative teachers,
innovative administrators, and countless, committed support staff.
As the largest employer in east Harris County, GPISD regularly cultivates our own
talent and promotes from within. In doing so, we are ensuring new administrators
are already familiar with the unique needs and strengths of our students and
schools. As a shining example, Dr. John Moore began his career 33 years ago
as a science teacher at Cunningham Middle School, and he now serves as the
Superintendent of Galena Park ISD, leading our symphony to new heights. By
growing our own musicians, there is no limit to the music we can make.
