Academics
Academics are the musical notes that compose a productive life, and just as
a symphony builds to a crescendo, the academic programs offered by GPISD
build from Pre-K foundations to secondary opportunities. We begin by focusing
on the youngest of learners through our Pre-K programs for three and four-year-
olds. Families of elementary students also have the opportunity to choose one-
way and two-way bilingual programs, as well as our newly-opened elementary
STEM Academies. Advanced courses are available to all students beginning in
sixth grade, and we have a full medley of extra-curricular programs to enhance
creativity and help students develop their interests. Dual credit programs are
offered to students beginning in ninth grade through the CTE Early College High
School, and beginning in tenth grade, students can choose from a wide range of
dual credit courses taught at San Jacinto College North or their home campus.
Secondary students are also able to earn many industry-based certifications to
make them career-ready upon graduation. Though students can choose many
different paths, the academic programs provided by GPISD are orchestrated to
ensure all students excel going forward.
