4. Support for Educational


 Improvement Projects


 and School Transformation Initiatives





          •  24  GPISD bands and choirs earned a Sweepstakes rating in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading
             Competition, an honor bestowed upon ensembles that earn a 1st Division Rating in both concert and
             sight-reading competitions.               
          •  Salvador Flores, GPHS band member, was invited to attend the Interlochen Music Festival and won
             the gold award from the National YoungArts Foundation.  
          •  The NSSHS Band has been invited to perform at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra
             Clinic in Chicago, IL in December 2017. Only four high school bands across the nation are invited
             each year to perform at this prestigious event.


        Athletics Honors
          •  GPHS advanced to the playoffs in Boys’ Tennis, Girls’ Volleyball
             and Boys’ Soccer
          •  NSSHS advanced to the playoffs in Girls’ Basketball and
             Volleyball, Boys’ Basketball , Football,  Boys’ Soccer and Baseball
          •  x number of students have earned athletic scholarships since
             20xx, with x number of students signing with Division I schools
          •  Playoffs since 1994 and playoffs twice????
          •  State Champions in basketball and football???
          •  Baseball????



         4.6 EVIDENCE OF LONG TERM PLANNING FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT


       Annually, the Board of Trustees approves District Goals used in the development of District and Campus
       Improvement Plans. The Board also works collaboratively with the Superintendent and Cabinet members
       to identify priorities and commitments that serve to support the District’s mission.
