SYSTEM ABOVE PERSONAL OR POLITICAL MOTIVES

2024 Bond
With the passing of the bond in May
2024, a major decision had to be made
regarding the selection of various firms that
would be awarded the task of rebuilding
five schools and renovating several other
campuses with a bond awarded amount
of $530 million� The possible economic
benefit to selected firms could have easily
presented itself as political in nature if the
selection had not been handled with the
highest level of integrity� The Board was very
supportive in implementing the rules and laws set forth by the state of Texas and were not
politically influenced by their choices� The Construction Committee Board trustees, consisting
of Jose Jimenez, Noe Esparza, and Linda Sherrard, each took time away from their daily
professional responsibilities to be actively involved in the bidding process to choose the
Architects, Engineers, and Professional Services and the Project Manager Services for the
2024 Bond� Based on a fair and impartial evaluation, without respect to business affiliations,
the final selections made were the firms best qualified to meet the needs of the District�
