1. Functions
as a Policy-Making Body
1.1 POLICIES ESTABLISHED OR REVISED BY THE BOARD IN THE LAST TWO YEARS
The Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees actively supports the superintendent in implementing new board
policies as well as regularly reviewing and/or revising local policies. Policy updates are always done in
accordance with recommendations from Texas Association of School Boards and in response to legislative
requirements. Any policy change is done with the students and staff of Galena Park ISD in mind, and the
Board not only meets but also exceeds TASB and TEA recommendations. Over the past two years, the
District has adopted or revised the following policies:
