The GPISD Board of Trustees demonstrates their commitment to ensuring equity for all students, parents
and staff.  In addition, the Board works diligently to remain impartial with regards to critical business
involvement.  The betterment of the District as a whole and the maintenance of fiscal strength have always been
        priorities for the Board.

        Tax Rate
With the passing of the 2016 bond referendum, constituents saw a tax increase from $0.27 to $.032 for the next
year.  Though a tax rate increase is often viewed as an unpopular action, the upgrades to our outdated facilities
proved a much greater benefit to our students, parents, and staff than potential complaints about an increased
tax rate.  By approving the bond referendum, Board trustees knew they would face opposition from some
community members, but opted to undertake this potentially unpopular action in order to serve the needs of the
        larger community.
