Financial Transparency
Galena Park ISD’s Board of Trustees is fortunate to have several members with extensive experience and
success in the business sector. As a result of their personal and prior knowledge of best business practices,
their personal focus is ensuring GPISD exercise sound fiscal management strategies that will sustain
the District for the foreseeable future. The Board places great importance on financial transparency. Our
business department maintains an online check register, financial reports, and budgets to assure the public
has a clear and consistent picture of spending by the school district. We are proud to have earned the Texas
Comptroller’s Leadership Circle Platinum Award for financial transparency for five consecutive years, and
additionally earned the Transparency Star for Traditional Finances for the 2016-17 school year.
