AND THE DISTRICT, AS WELL AS ACTIONS AFFECTING LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Galena Park ISD utilizes print and electronic media to convey important information in a timely manner
to the community.

Superintendent’s Corner: On the District website, our superintendent highlights District
accomplishments in a monthly column, Superintendent’s Corner. Here, one can read a timely message
from the Superintendent, the District profile, and the Superintendent’s Spotlight, which is updated
regularly.

GPS (Galena Park Schools): The District’s GPS newspaper is
produced, mailed and posted to the District website and social
media outlets three times per year. Our Back to School edition
contains information about the upcoming school year; the
Mid-Year Edition is student-focused; and the End-of-the-Year
edition covers events from the entire school year. Each edition of
GPS is published in English and Spanish.

Parent Connect Newsletter: Each month, the Parent Connect
Newsletter is distributed electronically to the community
and posted to social media and the District website. The
newsletter spotlights district and campus news, bond
updates, recognizes parent volunteers and provides a list
of upcoming district and campus events in English and
Spanish.
