03 SUPPORT FOR EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH STATE-ESTABLISHED STANDARDS
ACT School Day
The Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees also supports providing students with the opportunity
to take the ACT during the school day at no charge� This initiative saves families time and
money�
Administering the ACT on campus in a familiar environment and with staff they know has
shown to enhance Galena Park ISD student performance on the exam� The school day ACT
administration opens doors for those who might struggle with affordability or transportation to
a national Saturday ACT administration� This approach has notably aided in demonstrating
college readiness among our students� The average composite scores have increased over
the past few years�
The data from the spring 2025 administration highlights this progress with the average
composite score climbing to approximately 17�99�
