Technology Tips

Chromebook Distribution
To support our students and families with our additional Digital Learning initiatives, we will check
out technology devices (Chromebooks, chargers and protective covers) to all students for the
duration of the school year. With our current inventory, we expect to achieve our goal of one
District-owned device in every household for GPISD students.

Prior to checking out a Chromebook, parents/guardians must complete our Device Loan
Agreement form and complete an online Parent Orientation for Digital Learning session. If your
child is eligible for a device, you will receive Chromebook distribution information, including
directions for retrieving the device.

Chromebook Distribution (Phase 2 - Part 2): Late August – October 2020 (or until complete)

As additional devices become available, we will distribute one Chromebook, charger, and
protective cover to students if they have not already received one in a prior group.

GPISD Free WiFi Hotspots
Successful remote learning will require internet access for students. Galena Park I.S.D. has made
the District internet available for students who do not have access in their home. Students may
log onto the District WiFi at the following district locations:

Mobile WiFi Hotspots Information

The Galena Park I.S.D. Technology and Transportation Departments have collaborated to serve
our students’ technology needs with mobile WiFi hotspots on buses at 20 locations around the
District. The mobile WiFi hotspots will be available five days a week. Please continue to monitor
our social media platforms and website for locations and times.
