Going Above and Beyond... The Book

The Galena Park ISD (GPISD) Education Foundation acknowledged employees who go above
and beyond their core duties to teach our students and support the delivery of education
through the Beyond the Book Award. We believe those involved in the educational process
should strive to support GPISD’s standard of Excellence in All, for All, by All in service to District
stakeholders including students, fellow employees and community members.

GPISD principals were given applications to nominate a district administrator, a support staff
member and an elementary or secondary teacher. Once the applications were submitted, the
nominations were given to the Education Foundation Awards Committee for the final selection.

The Beyond the Book winners were:
• Secondary Teacher - Beverly Conner
• Support Staff - Leticia Garza
• District Administration - Jennie Alexander
• District Administration - Chris Gause

Galena Park ISD would like to congratulate the 2023-2024 Beyond the Book winners, who each
received an engraved crystal book from the Foundation.
