Alumni Spotlight
As proud alumni serving on the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ramon Garza and Mrs. Linda Clark Sherrard
bring a unique perspective to their roles. Their deep-rooted connection to Galena Park ISD,
forged through their educational journeys within the district, informs their decision-making and
strengthens their commitment to excellence. These trustees embody the district’s values and
aspirations, having experienced firsthand the impact of a quality education in their community.
Their service on the board represents a way to give back and ensures that the legacy they
inherited as students will thrive for future generations. Through their leadership, they strive to
enhance the educational experience for all students, drawing on their personal histories and
professional expertise to guide Galena Park ISD toward continued success.
Currently serving as the Vice President
of the Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees,
Mr. Ramon Garza is a 1986 graduate of
Galena Park High School. Mr. Garza’s
contribution to GPISD’s legacy of
excellence runs deep, as his three
daughters are also GPISD graduates.
Those ties were highlighted in his most
proud moments when he was able to
hand his daughters their high school
diplomas as they walked across the
stage at their respective graduations.
Mr. Garza takes pride in “doing the right
things for the right reasons and for all our
kids, not just one.”
Linda Clark Sherrard is a lifelong
educator who considers it an honor to
serve as a member of the Galena Park
ISD Board of Trustees. As a 1970 Galena
Park High School graduate, she delights
in the mission of public education as
she wanted to serve as a trustee to
make a difference. She has been a part
of Galena Park ISD as a student, an
educator, an administrator, a parent,
and now as a member of the Board of
Trustees. Linda Clark Sherrard stands firm
on continuing to do “whatever we can
to make sure everyone has a successful
educational experience.”
