The District is determined to continuously improve the
CO-CURRICULAR EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACADEMIC learning needs are met, and he or she receives the best
effectiveness of classroom instruction to ensure each child’s

opportunity to succeed every day.

Providing a quality education to our students requires
nurturing current educators as well as encouraging
District students to become future teachers in GPISD. Our
Instructional Coaches work side-by-side with classroom
teachers in a variety of roles, providing customized

professional development and ensuring high-quality
instruction.

Future District leaders are developed through the Aspiring
Administrator Academy, where they learn what it takes to
become a GPISD leader. The Galena Park I.S.D. Homegrown
Program encourages District Seniors to enroll in college
to become future teachers in the Galena Park I.S.D.
community.

Galena Park Independent School District provides many
other leadership and career development opportunities for
our teachers, including:
• Aspiring Counselors Academy,
• Aspiring Administrators Academy,
• Teacher Leadership Council,
• Teacher mentor opportunities, and
• Professional development seminars.
