Tech Squad To The Rescue

The Galena Park ISD Technology Department introduced the Tech Squad
this past semester at each elementary, middle, and high school campus.
The Tech Squad is a group of students selected from each campus to
provide first-line troubleshooting support to students and staff who have
encountered a technical problem with a school-issued Chromebook. There are
currently 240 students participating in this program across the District.

Students in Galena Park ISD are issued
Chromebooks as a part of the 1:1 technology
initiative implemented last year. When technology
issues arise with these devices, students and staff
are able to consult with a
student Tech Squad member
to troubleshoot technical
issues. More often than
not, the issues are resolved
with Tech Squad support.

The Tech Squad has
given students hands-
on experience MacArthur Elementary Tech Squad
with technology
support and an
opportunity to refine
soft skills, such as
communication,
teamwork,
listening skills, and
resourcefulness.

We are excited to see
our students engaged
in experiences that will
open opportunities for
them in the years to
come!
