3.4-TRENDS IN STUDENT PERFORMANCE AND EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT FOR EFFORTS TO
CORRECTIVE DEFICIENCIES IN STUDENT PERFORMANCE
The GPISD Board of Trustees recognizes that in order to provide excellence in all, for all, by all,
we must consider the needs of all students, which often extend beyond what is traditionally
considered the role of schools and school personnel� The needs of students are myriad, and
encompass instructional as well as social and emotional domains�
Priority Goals
While striving to maintain a longstanding vision, trustees adopt priority goals each year to
meet the annual changes seen in the community� The Board begins this process with a
comprehensive assessment of the current educational landscape, incorporating feedback
from various stakeholders, including teachers, parents, students, and community members�
They also consider academic achievement data, trends in educational best practices, and
the socio-economic context of the community� Through these collaborations, trustees gather
diverse perspectives to create annual priority goals that reflect the community’s needs�
Once the yearly goals are established, the school board employs multiple strategies to
communicate this plan throughout the district and the wider community� Regular updates
are shared through superintendent newsletters, videos, district websites, and social media
platforms, ensuring transparency and accessibility� Additionally, district administrators
develop a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Dashboard� Each trustee can access this
dashboard, which is updated quarterly, at any time to follow progress being made toward
the priority goals� The KPI dashboard allows for incredible transparency within the district�
Each district administrator who supervises a key area in the dashboard understands the
school board is actively monitoring goal progress� The KPI dashboard allows school personnel
to share progress and challenges in real-time, allowing the Board to be incredibly responsive
to our District’s needs� This transparency is critical to our success as a school district�
