        The Board of Trustees continues to prioritize student success by supporting the mission of
        Galena Park ISD, which is to prepare students to be lifelong learners As such, trustees hold
        the Curriculum and Instruction Department accountable to ensure that clear expectations
        are set for teachers regarding curriculum and instruction To meet this expectation, Galena
        Park ISD has a district-created curriculum which allows instruction to be fluid and responsive
        to student data and needs The curriculum is housed in the digital Curriculum Corner portal;
        one-stop shop, to assist teachers and administrators Teachers in all core areas, Fine Arts,
        CTE and Technology will find a curriculum map for each unit of instruction with a wealth of
        resources to help enhance their daily lesson plans The site also provides current updates,
        state requirements, and district goals

        In addition, support is provided in Curriculum Corner for Advanced Academics, Bilingual/
        ESL, Early Childhood, Special Education, Multicultural Education and Student Assessment
        The district also invests in award-winning elective options for secondary students in foreign
        language, LOTC/ROTC, and athletics With guidance and support for this endeavor from
        our trustees, the needs of all students are met, and resources for each unit of instruction are
        provided
