“The thing I keep at the center of my heart, my mind and every decision I make is to treat
every child like they are my own. I think that helps us do the right thing for everybody’s child
and the right thing isn’t always easy. Sometimes we have to make really difficult decisions, we
have to love on the kids, and we have to support teachers,” Dr. Martin said in an interview
with H-E-B. “In the end, if we treat each human being like they belong we can make great
changes.”
Since the H-E-B Excellence in Education program’s inception in 2002, H-E-B has awarded more
than $13 million in funding to benefit outstanding Texas public schools, school boards, early
childhood facilities, teachers, and principals.
Congratulations, Dr. Martin! Galena Park ISD is lucky to have you.
