Spirit of Competition
he Galena Park ISD LOTC program, under the leadership of Sergeant Darrow Adams,
coordinator for military science, hosted a district-wide competition for all middle school
Tcampuses. The cadets competed in several events to showcase the talents and skills
they have been working on this school year. The categories of each inspection consisted
of command voice, uniform cleanliness, bearing, appearance and knowledge of state
and federal leaders. The regulations consisted of drill movements, rifle movements and flag
etiquette while marching.
The following are the ranks for each competition:

All campus leaders and cadets showed dignity and hard work in their outstanding
performances. A special congratulations to the North Shore Middle School cadets, under the
leadership of Staff Sergeant, Valerie Williams, for a stellar performance. The entire competition
was truly a highlight of the esteemed pride and spirit of GPISD.
