by winning the Call of Duty championship at the HSEL Osvaldo Garcia
Fall Majors. In May, the team competed at the HSEL North Shore Esports Club
Call of Duty National Championship and walked away with 3 place. Each team member
rd
received a $750 scholarship.
The North Shore Esports Club was created in 2019 by Mr. Christopher Ybarra, Mr. Keith
Lovinggood, Mr. Manuel Vargas and Mr. Logan Wilson, who all teach at North Shore Senior
High 10 Grade Campus. The Esports Club was selected out of 25 schools across the country
th
and the only high school in Texas to receive an Esports Lab funded by HSEL. The lab included
six high-end specialty computers, worth over $11,000. In March 2021, the High School Esports
League and Army National Guard traveled to North Shore Senior High 10 Grade Campus to
th
build the computers with the students as part of a STEM lesson on how to build computers.
We are so proud of the North Shore
Esports Club members and sponsors
for their many accomplishments!
