Computer Collaboration

Galena Park ISD (GPISD) is proud of our
partnership with Compudopt. Compudopt is a
non-profit organization that provides technical
access and education to under-resourced
youth and their communities. The organization
distributed over 500 free computers to GPISD
families for educational and personal use.

Parents and students alike were grateful for
this opportunity as Tom Towry, GPISD parent
shared, “this was a great resource for students,’
and GPISD parent Jonathan Cruz felt the
overall registration and pickup process “was a
10.” Desiray Rivera, GPISD student, ended by
thanking Galena Park for being a Great Place
to Be!
Compudopt and GPISD Employees Collaborate

Compudopt’s Executive Director, Consuella
Whipple said, “This was our largest school district distribution. That is an indication of a very
productive partnership, so we will return to GPISD for another distribution in the very near future!”
In addition to providing free computers to families throughout the Houston area, Compudopt
also offers work-force aligned technology education programs, digital literacy classes, and
internet connectivity solutions in an effort to empower youth and their communities.
