Structured Fleet Replacement Plan
To ensure student safety and operational efficiency, GPISD follows a structured fleet
replacement plan This plan phases in new buses and vehicles based on a detailed analysis
of age, condition, mileage, and overall performance The District adheres to a 5- to 18-year
replacement cycle for buses, allowing for accurate long-term budgeting and improved
safety outcomes By implementing an aggressive preventive maintenance schedule and
closely monitoring vehicle condition, GPISD is able to stagger replacement costs and
maintain a reliable fleet This strategy minimizes hazards and ensures the District can meet
transportation needs without unexpected disruptions
