SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVES

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Programs
Trustees have been very aggressive in leveraging advanced technologies which assist
teachers’ delivery of quality content via high-yield strategies� The district is currently using
three different Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs that specifically assist teachers with
grading and student feedback�

Connectivity
With the support of the Board of Trustees, the district has a robust updated infrastructure
including a 10 GB Wide Area Network and 20 GB Internet access with 1 GB to the desktop�
Utilizing single sign-on software, ClassLink students have access to all of their resources
with a single click� In addition to connectivity and resources, the district is a Google Apps
For Education (GAFE) district� GAFE provides all employees and students, except for
PreKindergarten - 1 grade, with all Google Drive programs including Google Classroom

and Gmail for secondary students� Additionally, hot spots are provided as needed to at-risk
families who do not have internet access in their homes�

Devices
The Galena Park ISD Board of Trustees has consistently
supported initiatives which provide District students
access to technology in the classrooms�

PreKindergarten, Kindergarten, and Digital Art
students access iPads for digital learning while 1 - 12

students, including CTE classrooms which are not labs
and several Fine Arts classrooms have 1:1 access to
Chromebooks in their classrooms� Chromebooks and
iPads offer distinct benefits for use in classrooms, often
serving different educational purposes and catering
to various learning styles and needs� Chromebooks, with their focus on cloud-based tools
and web-based applications, are favored for their cost-effectiveness, mobility, and seamless
integration with the district’s Learning Management Systems: Google’s education suite and
Seesaw� iPads, on the other hand, excel in interactive and multimedia learning�

Implementing interactive display panels to replace data projectors in classrooms has
been consistently approved and funded by the school board� Interactive panels enhance
the classroom experience by promoting engagement, interactivity, collaboration,
and accessibility� They transform traditional lessons into dynamic, immersive learning
environments that foster creativity and critical thinking�
