Super Star Buddy Relays
The Annual Super Star Buddy Relays is a
heartwarming event which brings together
students with diverse learning needs and their
general education peers for a day filled with
fun, camaraderie, and spirited challenges�
Each spring, students, families, volunteers and
community members gather in the GPISD
Stadium to celebrate inclusivity and teamwork�

During the event, pairs of students take to the
field, tackling a variety of fun-filled activities and
challenges� From obstacle courses to team-
building games, each event is designed to
emphasize teamwork and highlight the unique
abilities of every participant�

The community’s support for this event is palpable, with parents and friends enthusiastically
cheering from the stands� Among the attendees are members of the School Board of
Trustees, who are always thrilled to witness firsthand the positive impact of such an inclusive
event� The Annual Super Star Buddy Relay is more than just a day of fun; it celebrates the
power of inclusion and the strength of diversity�

Galena Park ISD’s North Shore Ninth Grade Center Hosts First Quinceañera
The Galena Park ISD North Shore Ninth Grade Center (NS9) proudly hosted its inaugural
Quinceañera in May 2025, a vibrant cultural celebration honoring students as they reach
the milestone of turning 15� This enchanting event, themed “Enchanted Forest,” provided
a memorable evening of elegance, unity, and tradition� The celebration fostered cultural
pride and promoted academic excellence and positive behavior, giving students and their
families a unique opportunity to come together in a formal setting�

One of the most remarkable
aspects of the Quinceañera was
the outpouring of support from the
Board of Trustees, local community
members, and vendors, who
generously donated their time,
services and resources� Their
contributions helped create a
magical night that celebrated the
diversity and unity of the Galena
Park ISD community�
