               SCHOOL TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVES



        Technology Integration Support
        The Board supports campus technology integration
        by approving a Technology Department which
        encompasses administrative staff as well as 12
        campus technicians and 25 campus Digital Learning
        and Assessment Coordinators (DLAC)� The DLACs
        are certified teachers who are also certified Google
        Educators� In addition to providing staff development
        and resources, campus DLACs facilitate the integration
        of digital learning and Technology Application TEKS
        into core curriculum and classroom instruction� They
        also manage the student assessment programs on
        each campus� Administrators, teachers and DLACs work together to provide technology
        and digital experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation

        Student Online Safety
        Safety, including online safety, is a district goal and priority� All employees complete a yearly
        eCourse that promotes and models digital etiquette and responsible social interactions
        related to the use of technology and information�

        The district’s Internet Safety curriculum is taught to all students, Kindergarten through 12

        grade� All lessons are grade appropriate and address many different topics including
        keeping personal information private, cyberbullying, showing respect online, and speaking
        to an adult in the event that there is a problem while online�

        Long-range Plans to Support Technology Integration
        The GPISD Board of Trustees encourages the development and use of long-range plans to
        ensure both staff and student technology needs are met today and long into the future� As
        such, the Technology Department maintains a five-year replacement plan which includes:

             • Classroom Equipment

                     » Classroom Panel PC Module Replacements
             • Servers (Data Center & Campus DP Servers)
