Educators Make Milestone

alena Park ISD is proud to have dedicated teachers who have served our students for 50
years. So, we are pausing to highlight Ms. Deborah Eaton and Ms. Mary Dale-Craven’s
Gunwavering commitment to excellence. Here’s to a cumulative century of making a
difference!

Since attending Galena Park ISD’s Fidelity Manor High School as a student herself, Ms. Deborah
Eaton has been teaching math to Galena Park High students for “what doesn’t seem like 50
years at all.” Eaton is a part of GPISD’s history, and she is most proud of being able to connect
with her students for generations of families. She delights in “teaching kids, and then teaching
their kids, and teaching families…Galena Park is home to me; I’ve never had a desire to go
anywhere else. We’re a family.”

This is Mary Dale-Craven’s 50 year serving students at Galena Park Middle School, and she
th
“loves it here.” She has been most proud to support her students to become doctors, lawyers,
news broadcasters, movie stars, musicians, producers, teachers, principals, and even some
current GPISD district administrators. However, Ms. Dale-Craven is resolved to continue to try to
be the missing link for students who deal with challenges that many do not understand.
