Stacking Up On Safety
alena Park ISD takes the responsibility
for student safety very seriously. Our
Gcommitment to providing a safe and
secure learning environment for our students
and staff remains a top priority. GPISD has
conducted intruder detection audits for the
last decade, which prepared us for recently
required Intruder Detection Audits by the
Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the School
Safety Center (SSC). TEA and SSC conducted
thorough checks of our exterior doors,
reviewed our visitor management systems,
ensured classroom doors were properly
locked, and reviewed documentation of
weekly door checks. We are very proud to Security Department Serves Tice Elementary
share that our State Intruder Detection Audits
have been very successful – in fact, they have been exemplary! We take these audits very
seriously as they are crucial in ensuring the safety and security of our students and staff.
Our schools have shown a high level of preparedness and have met or exceeded the TEA
and SSC’s standards for intruder detection. We would like to extend our gratitude to our staff,
teachers, and students who have worked tirelessly to ensure our schools remain safe and
secure. In fact, after every campus successfully passed its State Intruder Detection Audit, the
GPISD Security Department hosted a pancake breakfast for the faculty and staff members! We
are stacking up on safety.
GPISD will continue to conduct intruder detection audits and implement the necessary
measures to continue improving safety and security.
